Have you ever tried one of them apps that tracks your steps? Ok that's most apps. I meant one of them fitness apps that does it for your benefit too, not just to sell it to advertisers and the IRS. I did 10 years ago. It played this rewarding ringtone whenever I walked 10,000 steps in one day. I lost 25 pounds while I had that app. Then I got a new phone, forgot to allow notification from that fitness app, and gained 30 pounds - but that's besides the point. The fitness app worked, while it worked.
Now imagine such app for comedians...
OK that's not quite what I meant...
Imagine an app where you can set your comedy goals such as: write at least 3 jokes a day or perform at least 4 mics/shows a week. No need to imagine. We imagined it for you. Once you enter your goals the app can track your performance for you (well, so long as you use the app to write the jokes, and use the app to record the shows, we will know and applaud you).
Jerry Seinfeld attributed his success to routines such as writing certain amount of jokes daily and marking Xs on his wall calendar each day he met the joke quotas. Well, that and pop tarts. Joktor let's you follow Jerry's lead without the need for purchasing a calendar or having access to walls.
